TRA!  LA!

…..and TALLY HO!…..

…..our Hunt Club’s Cubbing Season has begun…..

It’s still Super-Hot out there…..

…..and it’s still Super-Muddy too…..

Our undaunted members have already braved the elements and had their first Fox Hunt…..

…..I missed it…..

…..and I don’t want to talk about it…..

But Addy’s had her hooves done…..I do still have to pull her mane…..

…..(Pascal…..don’t tell anybody…..but I cheat when I pull manes)…..

…..(shhhhhhh)…..

…..(of course…..it looks ratty when I’m finished)…..

…..(but I barely (hardly ever) groom myself…..hours picking and pulling my horses’s mane just doesn’t happen)…..

But Addy’s hooves look good…..

Actually one of our first recent Hunts had to be cancelled…..

…..not that the horses and the riders couldn’t have braved the environment and slogged on…..

But the ranch owner was concerned about the depth of the mud in the access road and the squishy-ness of the pasture where all of the trucks and horse trailers would be traversing/parking/and unloading…..

We’ve had our share of bottomed-out trucks and horse trailers in the past…..

…..(hence the huge winch on the front of my truck)…..

But all in all…..

…..the rainy season should be winding down in a matter of weeks…..

…..and the water table should start subsiding…..(fyi—we have Whistling Ducks in the puddles/lakes in our backyard right now)…..

…..soon we will all start to dry out again…..

…..See!?!…..
