Solving World Problems

Solving World Problems

~~~~~~~My Thoughts On World-Problems~~~~~~~ Like you all know… We have a number of Irish Wolfhound puppies… They just turned four weeks old… All of the pee’ing/poop’ing boogers are happily gobbling up and/or wearing their meals of gruel… ***FYI…..early on…..right after young puppies are born…..you have to encourage them to pee & poop……. …..apparently they don’t know how… So…..soon after a litter of puppies is born…..the majority of my time is spent wiping to stimulate puppy bottoms to encourage them to…
~~Self-Quarantining During~~ COVID-19
~~Self-Quarantining During~~ COVID-19
This morning I had to go out……. …..(off the property even)……………..wow… I had to drive multiple miles to the clinic of an old vet friend of mine… (I have a lot of old vet friends)…..(both large and small animal vets) I knew I’d been home for quite a while… But, I hadn’t figured out just how long that had been… …..I’ve been home and house-bound a very long time with Molly’s puppies…..or Willow’s puppies…..or Killian’s puppies……. …..since…..forever… I meant it…
~~~Gruel Time For Molly’s Puppies~~~

~~~Gruel Time For Molly’s Puppies~~~
This evening’s meal was the first attempt at “solid” food for Molly’s litter… Their eyes are almost completely open now… The formula (just by itself) isn’t filling them up to where they feel happy & content with their full tummies… They can’t sink their newly emerging teeth into it… ~~~~~~~~~~~~~So It’s Gruel Time~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was one of the easiest transition that we have ever had…….! The little boopers just dove right into the gruel with little to no outside assistance……….
COVID-19 Virus…….And The Farm
COVID-19 Virus…….And The Farm
Life is a tap dance… …..if you are lucky…..you can keep up with the tempo… …..as this corona virus pandemic unfolds…..the dance steps keep changing… …..we don’t know what tomorrow will bring…..we’re just taking one day at a time… …..so many things in life are like a Twelve Step Program… …..you can plan ahead as much as you want…..but you still have to take it one day at a time……. …..which is where we are at……. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I’m trying to…
Clean-Up On Aisle Six
Clean-Up On Aisle Six
I need distractions…….I’m going stir-crazy……. Anything to take my focus away from making puppy formula and smelling like old yoghurt and sour milk… I found myself peeling dried/cracked egg yolk from around my fingernails yesterday evening…..(at least, I think it was dried egg yolk…(?)…) I did FINALLY take a shower…….maybe this is TMI…….what do you think, Pascal…..? I mean…….I’m not really sure when the last one was…….one day just blends into another……. …..it’s all a blur……. …..taking nano-naps takes priority…
Molly And Me
Molly And Me
At this point we still have fourteen puppies… …..eight girls and six boys… …..we are at eleven days and counting… …..and it’s Friday the Thirteenth too… …..but I haven’t forgotten the litter of fifteen who we lost when they were between three and four weeks old… …..and we still don’t know why………(sigh)… …..so…..I’m holding my breath and keeping my fingers crossed… Molly is trying hard to keep up with nursing all fourteen of her babies……. …..but she’s fading fast……. …..I…
All For The Lack Of A Collar
All For The Lack Of A Collar
We should have named Ben…..Houdini… He is the best escape-artist, when it comes to getting out of his collars… We (the knuckle-dragging/bi-peds) finally learned that a chain collar for the boy is necessary……. …..we learned too late…….but we ultimately learned……. …..we have also learned that the addition of a hearty harness (for social occasions, when we have to go out) is a necessity for the Ben-boy……. …..(so that I can pull him off balance & subsequently stop his momentum)….. In…
~~~Puppy Pilgrimage~~~

~~~Puppy Pilgrimage~~~
We had to take Willow’s litter for their first round of puppy shots… Yesterday was our designated puppy-pilgrimage-day… Seven, squirming, damp fuzz-balls… But my younger daughter and I did make it with all seven… …..there was one…….long…….extended…….moment in the vet’s parking lot where I could only count six puppies in the truck’s back seat……. …..life was frozen in space & time….. …..bile & stomach-acid was immediately in my throat….. …..one of the back windows was cranked down further than what…
Oscar’s On His Way
Oscar’s On His Way
A couple days ago my younger daughter and I loaded up the dually with five (now 25 pound a piece) Irish Wolfhound puppies for their continued puppy shot series and up-dated health certificates. All of the necessary vaccinations, paperwork, pokes & prods were completed when we re-packed the pups back into the truck and wove our way back home. Paulo’s sub-compact would no longer be the vehicle of choice for five Wolfhound puppies…….now it’s just gotta be the entire back…
Mission Accomplished ~~~Puppy Proofing The Christmas Tree
We finally got the tree up AND we got it lit! It’s not pretty…….but it’s (fairly) puppy-proof… Let the games begin!                       Tra!  La! My younger daughter and I went to our special tree farm and picked out our tree…….(we’ve been going to the same Christmas Tree Farm since my girls were in diapers.)   ***Lazy Lay Acres Christmas Tree Farm*** …..Paulo gives us ceiling height measurements ahead of time.  We…
