At that time…my older daughter worked at a nearby pet shop….. This shop worked with a local cat rescue…which had recently found a litter of kittens…left in an abandoned rental house….. We’re almost at the stage where they leave their bins…and take up residence in wire cages…(also in the den)….. I took breaks when and where I could…but…in the heat of the Holidays…you have to keep up the pace….. Boxing Day…was an opportunity to catch my breath after Christmas Eve and Christmas Day….. …..but then there’s the home stretch…which will culminate on New Year’s Day….. …..and of course…afterwards…I’ll have to try to remember to write the correct new year on every subsequent document……..

My younger daughter has her Papillon (Danny) with her on her bed…who stands guard…and refuses any cats entry into their bedroom….. My older daughter has her Jack Russell (Drogo)–(and a screen door)…and none of the cats can get into her bed…(and survive)….. But me(?)….. …..I’m not so lucky….. …..I’m free game….. Mine is the only duvet they have access to…mine…

It’s dark…it’s quiet…it’s a good time to set our intentions for the day….. …..and then…we sit down and we write….. My older daughter has always been an avid/prolific writer of prose….. And as we all know…I write…”this”…(I don’t know why…but I do)….. …..(I think it’s some sort of therapy)….. We’ve noticed something else……..
