Over this last weekend…we went to a Friends-giving…..

It was hosted by my older daughter’s cool friend—Moxy…..

Everyone has traditional plans for their traditional Thanksgiving…but Friendsgiving…is a large get together…for friends…..

I really like this concept…plus it’s a lot of fun…..

It was a covered-dish affair…it was so easy…..

We have a lot of experience with pulling off Hunt Club Teas…we already have all the bells & whistles necessary to bring multiple sides…..

…..our chairs are at the ready…our plastic cutlery is already organized…we even have lunch room trays (for when those over-loaded/soggy paper plates…collapse)…..

Our friendly hostess had the forethought to have holiday movies to watch…..

This was right up my alley where simple fun and simple celebrations are concerned…things don’t need to be grandiose…or high-end expensive…or superlatively anything…..

It just needs to be simple & fun & comfortable…..

…..what’s important is the Get-Together…(and the food)…..

What’s so nice about covered-dish meals is…people bring their favorite recipe…and not a whole lot of it..they don’t have to feed the masses…..

So you get to graze…and taste everything…(and ask for the recipes later)…..

…..point in fact…I need to track down the recipe for the stuffed mushroom caps…they were yummy good…..

I liked this event…it might turn out to be right up there as one of my favorites…..

We took real mashed potatoes…(15+ pounds)…the lumpy kind with sour cream…and butter…and heavy cream…and a raw egg (mashed in when it’s still hot (so it cooks)—and it makes everything looks real nice and buttery-colored)…..

We also took that King’s Hawaiian sweet bread recipe…where you tear out the middle of the loaf and use it as the bowl for the spinach dip…..

And we took a jug of Sangria…..

…..(and chairs)…(and home-made chip cookies)…..

See…covered-dishes are easy for us…..

I wore the same outfit that I wore to the Dressage Show the weekend before last…(I washed it)…(and yes–I might have been waiting to see if I could get more whimsigoth compliments)…(I didn’t)…..

But everything was good…and relaxing…and fun…and kind…and yummy delicious…..

…..and that’s what celebrations should be…..

I give Five Stars to Friendsgiving…..
