*Addy And Her Abscess*

**********Please Subscribe To My Blog…..It Really Helps********** Horses get hoof abscesses…they occur for a bunch of reasons….. Usually they’re not considered an insurmountable problem….. …..they can be treated and healed….. But they are dramatic….. An otherwise sound horse can be dead-lame in the blink of an eye….. I had thought that we had the abscess under control after the last blacksmiths visit….. …..apparently not…or maybe this is a new one?….. …..whatever it is…it still needs treating….. Addy’s not a light-weight…even…

Poppy’s Here!

Poppy’s Here!

  Poppy has arrived at Mary Constance’s.     She walked off the trailer and took possession of all she surveyed. She sized up my daughter and took ownership.     Poppy is only eleven, but she has the maturity of a much older horse. And this is just great for my child and my possessive concerns for my daughter’s safety.   No wobbles, no disorientation. She just stepped down the ramp. She immediately got along with Claire and Chantilly…

~~~**Poppy**~~~
      She’s on her way…               “Poppy” has left Kentucky…   She’s somewhere in Georgia now… Next, the Florida Ag (Agricultural) Station check-point…(because of the thoroughbred racing industry in Ocala, equine transportation into and out of Florida is very strictly monitored.) Then on through to Mary Constance’s… Poppy is my younger daughter’s new horse. Carefully sought out and selected. No one can replace Sonja.  We don’t want anyone to. But hopefully, Poppy…
What We Do—–Horse Breeding——-(but wait, there’s more…)
We have draft horse girls. I took to heart a tee-shirt I once saw that said something like…………..I like draft horses because they make my back-side look small.          Not an easy feat. As a child in Ohio I remember laying on the ground by our side pasture fence with a big old brown horse on the other side.  (I now know as a Belgian Draft Horse).  I had my chin on my hands watching those big…
