Trailers can be very specific…..

Horse trailers…livestock trailers…slant-loads…ramps…&  step-ups…..

Bumper-pulls…goosenecks…living-quarters…steel…aluminum…& fiberglass…..

We have our big horse trailer that can carry a hay wagon plus four horses (draft…who are loaded head-to-butt versus slant-load)…..

…..ours has no fenders (there’s no room for them)…..it takes up the entirety of it’s lane on the highway…..

It’s a great trailer…..if I don’t load a wagon…..I can fit a boo-coodle amount of horses in it…..

…..(Note To Self—–DO NOT take it with you to a horse auction)…..

…..(that could turn out to be a FABULOUSLY Bad Decision)…..

BTW…..I’m still working on the cedar paneling for the living area in the nose of my horse trailer…..B.J. said he would help me…..

I wanted to show the differences and the necessity of matching a horse to a trailer…..

I tied Addy to the outside of B.J.’s trailer…..

She would fit in length-wise…..(maybe)…..

…..but I’m not too sure of the height requirement…..

Addy’s a good ole’ girl…..I think she’d be compliant….

…..and lower her head…..

I have friends who taught us how to drive…..

…..(we bought our first Belgian draft horse from them)…..

They said that their first trailer had a low ceiling…..

…..they would harness their Belgian team prior to trailering to a scheduled hay ride…..

…..their horses were so tall that the metal tops of their hames would drag along the ceiling…..

…..their team would dutifully keep their heads down…..

…..but the balls on the collar hames bounced on the ceiling all the way down the road…..

That’s why I love draft horses…..

…..they are so low-key and calm…..they take anything in stride…..

…..they suit me…..
