Well…it’s that time of year again…here comes our annual…..

!!!…..Pirate Invasion…..!!!

Tampa Bay celebrates it regularly…..

I suppose a marauding pirate could be considered a little desperate for a celebration topic…..

…..just to have a good time…(and empty the store shelves of rum)…..

…..but…it’s as good as any…..

…..YIPPEE!…..

There was this pirate named Jose Gaspar (I still don’t know how to get that accent over the “e” in Jose…..

And (historically speaking) he did run amok all around the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea…(along with a number of other pirates  &  privateers)…..

My good television-buddy***Josh Gates***did an episode about Jose on TV’s Discovery Channel…..

…..the poor guy (Josh not Jose) even got mired down in a swamp off the Peace River…trying to dig up one of Jose’s hidden treasures…..

…..(note to Josh~~~don’t dig in a Florida Swamp~~~it doesn’t work)…(we have floating fence posts in our goat pasture which can attest to that)…..

But all in all…good times are to be had by all on Gasparilla Day(s)…..

…..we’ve had to separate the Children’s Parade from the “Adults” Parade…because…well…the adults were way TOO childish for the children to witness…..

Good Times!…Good Times!…..

So between the Gulf…and the Bay…and the swamps…and ports…Florida can offer up some good entertainment…..

Florida always has a good/brisk sale and consumption of rum…(and cervesa and tequila)…..

…..if you plan it right…and with the help of a blender…..

…..you can meet all your daily requirements of fruits and vegetables (AND rum)…..

…..(my college degree was fueled by another Pirate Captain…Captain Morgan)…..

Someone in Suzanne Annette’s family even has their own rum brand and distillery in the Tampa Bay Area…..

…..(the name is supposed to have that symbol for “degrees”…but I don’t know how to do that on the keyboard either)…..

…..(they even have a Gasparilla-Collection of flavors…”Mutiny” & “Bombshell”)…..

Like I said…..
