The Burmese Python is considered an invasive species here in Florida…..

They do REALLY well in the Florida climate…they survive…they thrive…they get big and multiply…..

They probably got started as abandoned pets…..

…..oooops…..

The Florida Everglades is a large/unique ecosystem that takes up most of the southern tip of Florida before the Keys pop up at the bottom of the state…..

Somehow or another…over the years…the Everglades have become a happy magnet for the Burmese Python…..

…..where a pet snake can only become so big in a limiting terrarium…..

…..the limits of the Everglades allows them to grow to their gigantically-enormous potential…..

…..Super…Super…Tre-!@#$%$#@!-mendously…HUGE!…..

They thrive on deer and cattle and………….really anything they want…..

So…the State of Florida created the Python Challenge…a competition to help with the removal of some of the profuse Burmese Python population…..

Over the years we’ve had random alligators wander over our farm…(one ate one of our slower chickens)…..

About twenty (?) years ago we killed a gigantic Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake (who was laying all the way across the road by our mailbox)…..

…..I have to apologize to you snake aficionados out there…there are so many different types of pythons…..

…..there are Line Pythons…and Carpet Pythons…and Ball Pythons…and Rock Pythons…and Tree Pythons…..

…..Geez!…Who Knew!…..

…..I don’t know one from the other…..

I know they are one of God’s creatures…..

But can’t they be one of God’s creatures………….somewhere over there?…..
