*************Happy Fourth of July!*************

Hopefully it will be with family…..

Hopefully it will be a fun day…full of good food…and friends…..

It’ll be HOT here…but it usually is…..

 

We’re doing the traditional summer celebration with barbecued ribs and beans and corn on the cob…..

…..it never gets old…..

There’ll be firecrackers and fireworks displays…..

…..the southern-pyromaniac-Bubba’s will be out in droves…..

…..our street always wafts with smoke afterwards and that wonderful smell of burned gunpowder…..

…..that never gets old either…..

Our horses are all laid-back Drafts…so the pyrotechnics don’t faze them…..

My heart goes out to all those high-spirited Arabians and Thoroughbreds and Terriers out there who don’t happily handle the exploding fireworks…..

…..our Wolfhounds couldn’t care less…..

Hopefully the local Bubba’s will keep all of their pre-celebration digits…..

…..(they’d probably agree a full count of ten is an unnecessary luxury)…..

When I lived in Lake County, Ohio…we used to watch the fireworks over Lake Erie…..

…..when we lived in New Jersey…we could watch them over the Hudson River…..

Here we could go to the Bay or the beach for a Gulf of Mexico display…..

…..(or we could just stay home and watch it all on the TV in the A/C)…..

…..(hmmmmmm…decisions…decisions)…..
