Right after the last post…..Finley decided to take off his baby halter…..

It was time for the next bigger one…..

There was actually another one in-between that we could have chosen…..

…..but it was not that much larger…..and the nylon-webbing was thinner than the one we chose…..

The one we picked has a longer strap on its crown piece…..

…..a little too long…..

…..my older daughter and I had to unceremoniously drill extra holes in the strap…..

…..(she’s better with power tools…..remember there are some I’m still banned from using)…..

…..we put in more holes…..so we could tighten the halter more…..

…..we picked this one because it was sturdier/double-stitched and bigger…..

He’s growing so fast…..

Keep in mind…..Finley does NOT have a halter on at this point…..

…..and he knows it…..

There’s no easy way to contain or control him…..

…..and he knows it…..

And he has the propensity for whirling his ass at us when we try approaching him…..

…..(remember how he warranted the name Rocket Man?)…..

…..I Do…..

…..Booger…..

Remember that Mama-Pig-Dance we recently had to employ?…..

…..it’s very similar to the Baby-Foal-Dance…..

…..but you have to take bigger steps with more twirls and pirouettes…..

…..it’s amazing how nimble & lithe you can be in your water-proof Sloggers…..

…..all the while spinning out of the trajectory of tiny/treacherous hooves…..

…..while trying to get closer and nonchalantly BUCKLING ANOTHER HALTER ONTO HIS FACE!…..

After a few attempts…..after trying to disguise the new halter as the best-itching-brushing-thing…..after a few quick loops & an immediate (yet temporary) lead-rope halter…..

We did it!

We had the little @#$%%^$@$ under control once again…..

…..and the training continues…..
