***Anja Had An Abscess***

We don’t know why it appeared…..
It was on her neck where vaccinations are normally given…..

…..but we haven’t given any shots since last summer?…..
…..so an abscess coming up…..as a result of a vaccination needle…..is unlikely…..

Hmmmmmmm…..
But we treated it with the normal abscess-treatment-protocol…..
…..and yes…..there’s an abscess-treatment-protocol…..
…..(and I don’t recommend it for dinner table conversations)…..

#1…..Daily hosing…..
#2…..Drenching the inside with medicine…..

#3…..Keeping track of her temperature (to make sure it doesn’t spike)…..
…..(I’ve shown my younger daughter how to do this)…..

Anja is her horse after all…..
Yesterday I did notice that she had more water in her boots than outside them…..

Anja was not happy about the hosing or the probing…..
…..but Anja didn’t have a vote…..

Abscesses are dramatic things…..
We knew this one was brewing by the developing lump…..

I wish I could’ve caught the spewing eruption on camera…..
…..but honestly I was ducking the arc of pus and running for cover when it all broke loose…..
It was a big/monochromatic/opaque rainbow that squirted right over my left shoulder…..

…..I’m so thankful it didn’t hit me smack in the face and chest…..(and yes, that has happened in the past)…..
…..there was no smell…..

…..(of course I checked it!)…..
…..(you have to)…..(clean pus shouldn’t smell)…..

…..(if it does)…..(you’ve got complications to deal with)…..
………………..TMI???…………………

…..hmmmmmmm…..
I’ve just spent almost 200 words talking about pus…..
*****(Pus or Macrophage…..you decide)*****

…..I’ve been doing this Blog-thing for almost four years now…..
…..I’m not sure I should be proud…..or ashamed of the subjects of some of my posts…..

…..or that I can easily exploit 200 words describing arc’ing pus…..?…..
…..(being ashamed is in the lead right now)…..
…..(but it was way cool to watch)…..

…..(you should’ve seen it!)…..
…..(wish I could’ve gotten a picture)…..
Where was I…..?

Oh, Anja’s abscess…..
…..she’s doing better…..

My daughter irrigated the abscess openings (there are two now) for twenty minutes each day…..
Then I syringed 60ml of either colloidal silver or chlorhexidine into the now-empty/internal-crevice left by the exploding abscess…..
And…..then…..
…..Bob’s Your Uncle…..
