I can’t watch anymore television…..

I know the places they’re showing…I knew them…..

…(me…maybe fifty years ago)…

The beaches where I’d go…are unrecognizable or gone…..

…..the roads and connecting bridges…swept away…..

…..daytime jaunts…missing…..

Mary Constance’s barns lost their roofs (rooves?)…totally…they were lifted off…completely…or blown apart…..

…..she sent me a video…the horses are all okay…rattled…but okay…..

…..walking down the breezeway…it’s all just lined with stall walls without any roof…..

…..trees are down everywhere…usually over fence lines…..

…..her driveway was blocked with a massive oak…..

…(Mary Constance’s Driveway)…

…..her driveway was so pretty…..

Where Mary Constance normally parked her trailer and truck…that’s where one of her barn roofs landed…..

Mary Constance from her barn…that isn’t anymore…

…..luckily…she had moved both vehicles prior to Hurricane Ian…..

I worry about Mary Constance…like any serious horsewoman…she has plates and screws from past equine “mishaps” from years of being around horses…..

…..(most of us have disclaimer cards for airport security systems)…(so TSA knows why the alarms are going off)…..

Mary Constance has her work cut out for her…she’s good with power tools and hammers…..

Today…she had to wash her hair using a bottle of water…..

A lot of electricity is still not on…(my older daughter thought to recharge all of our tool batteries ahead of time)…..

Other Hunt Club members have had similar damage…I don’t know the extent…everyone’s just gotten down to the business of fixing and cleaning up and healing…..

We will not be hunting this week due to the condition of both fixtures.

On Saturday, October 8th, we will be having a very important work day.  At least 5 huge trees are down just where we park our vehicles.  We need volunteers to come with chain saws and rakes with wide plastic heads to help with clean up.  We will start at 8:30 a.m.

We recognize some of you have your own property to clean up.      If you can come, it would be greatly appreciated so we can get the property ready for future hunts.

I heard from another friend of mine who has two of our Irish Wolfhounds…she lives in Cape Coral…..

I don’t know if I mentioned this already…but Hurricane Ian made landfall at the exact/same spot that Hurricane Charley came ashore in 2004…..

…..(Hurricane Charley)…except…Hurricane Charley could fit into the eye of Hurricane Ian…..

…..big difference…..

She and her hounds made it through the storm…but she thought they were going to die…..

Her house is just two years shy of one hundred years old…she’s been renovating it…..

…..they all made it through…even the old house…along with all its original glass windows…..

…..wow…..

…..Count Your Blessings…And Live Every Day To Its Fullest…..

…..cuz ya just never know…..
