And another one bites the dust…..

Fence chargers don’t last very long here…..

Our area of Florida has a lot of electrical storms and a lot of lightening…..

…..with the result being A LOT of lightening strikes and electrical ground surges…..

I had to order another fence charger…..

…..I swear I just ordered a new one last month…..

You know how we realized that we needed a new charger…..?…..

…..because Finley has been walking under the fencing all day long…..

…..my older daughter found him on the wrong side of the pasture fence today…..

…..Finley just flips the fence wire up over his back…..and walks underneath…..

That was our indication that something was not copacetic…..

There was Finley stuffing his face with weedy-greenery on the other side of the fence…..grinning like a Cheshire cat…..

…..when my daughter found him…..would he walk back under the dead fencing…..?…..

…..No He Would Not…..

He insisted on having my daughter walk him back through the gate…..as if he was a well-behaved pony…..

He did this more than a few times today…..

When she checked directly at the charger with the electric fence voltage meter…..

…..there was less electricity being generated than the static electricity produced by brushing your hair on a dry winter’s day…..

No wonder Finley didn’t take the fencing seriously…..

Now…..I’m keeping my fingers crossed…..that Finley (and his desire for yucky-greenery) will be the only horse who discovers that the electric fence is not producing any significant…..zap-ability…..

You know what I’m really looking forward to…..?…..

…..(and maybe this make me a bad person)…..

But I’m looking forward to getting the fence charger…..and installing it…..

…..and then watching Finley try to walk underneath the fence after it’s been properly electrified…..

…..I know I’m a bad person for looking forward to that glee-filled moment…..

But I believe it’s better to admit the truth…..than to live under a false-persona of niceness…..
