My younger daughter has always wanted an AirStream trailer…..

Over the years she has researched and learned all she could about them…..

I don’t know when her penchants started…..I don’t know what started it…..

…..but it’s been percolating for awhile…..

We ran into an opportunity for an extreme “fixer-upper”…..which was sitting (mired down) in our vet’s back yard…..

It’s the “International” model…..and it’s an old one…..

It’s been a project just getting it here…..but it’s here now…..

…..and it rolled in under its own volition…..

…..(well…..that and a lot of know-how from Ralph)…..

My younger daughter has decided to name “her”…..

…..her trailer has been dubbed “Rosebud”…..

…..(I was going to bring up “Citizen Kane”…..but decided against it)…..

We (finally) got the old tires off and the new tires on…..

…..(well…..by we…..I mostly mean (totally mean)…..my good friend Ralph)…..

…..we were finally able to free-up the bumper-pull hitch (it was excessively rusted)…..

…..we (he) had to get the magnetized/rear-towing-lights stuck onto the back bumper…..(or what’s left of it)…..

……and we (he) had to use ratchet-straps to strap-on…..or strap-down (or up) various body parts of Rosebud that wanted to fall off…..(some got dragged down the road a bit)…..

…..especially on the super-bouncy backroads on the way to her new home…..(I expect that her shocks are totally gone too)…..

…..BUT…..she’s here now…..

…..and the real “project” is just beginning…..

First…..we have to clear-out all of the accumulated stuff that has……well…..accumulated inside the trailer…..

…..there are a lot of creepy-crawlers inside…..(the welts on my daughter stand witness to that)—(fortunately we are made from cast-iron-constitutions…..so no anaphylactic shock)…..(phew)…..

…..a good fumigation is in order…..

…..it will be a diluted-affair because of all the broken windows…..

…..but I am going to spray the @#$#^%$$# out of it anyway…..

Second…..we will have to make Rosebud’s outside shell weather-proof…..

…..and then…..

…..let the gutting begin…..!…..

Like I said…..it’s going to be a big project…..

…..I keep having to remind my younger daughter that we are not at the stage of picking out linens or flower pots just yet…..
