So…I’m fairly sure the tire debacle has been resolved…..

But not with the original tire guy…I’ll never go back to him…his motivations were not what was best for us…..

He was content with his profit margins only…and unhappy/unsafe customers were neither his concern nor problem…..

…..plus I’m pretty sure he’s a laser-focused misogynist…but that’s not a big deal…I’ve just learned to motor over them…whenever they’re encountered…..

However…we needed to find a new tire guy…..

Our horse hauling friends suggested another company…so we went there…..

The owner of this company didn’t have any stake in the game…he was just a nice man…..

He didn’t need to listen to our story…..

…..but he did…..

He even explained that the reason we were having problems was because of the high percentage of silicon in the Sailun tires that were put on our truck…..

…..he patiently listened while we explained that regular PSI…or higher PSI…or lesser PSI made no difference whatsoever…..

He said the type of tires was just not a good fit for our type of truck or its uses…..

He understood why hauling a bumper pull trailer was scary as hell…..

He showed us an All-Terrain tread…and said he would replace the four slippery tires…(and keep them)…if we bought two of the new from him…and he would put a total of four of the new ones across our back axle…..

I know I lost almost $500.00 on this whole tire fiasco…but you can’t put a price tag on my daughter’s and my safety…..

…..and I feel really fortunate to have found the second tire guy…like I said…he didn’t have to do anything to help us out…..

So we made chocolate chip cookies for all the mechanics…..

And from the moment that we drove away…the truck handled so differently…..

…..it actually felt like it was attached to the road again…..

There was no drifting out on corners…no wobble…no feeling like slipping on ice…no non-responsive steering wheel…..

…..just so much safer…..

My older daughter and I didn’t realize how much stress we’d been under trying to drive with the first four tires…..

I understand a business needing to make money and make a profit…but at what cost?…..

It was a good lesson learned…but going forward…how do I know that the same thing won’t happen again…I’m not a tire aficionado…..

I hope the second tire company stays in business for a long long time…I’ll make sure we go back to them whenever we need tires in the future…..
