Scarlett and Me
It’s not Tara.
It’s not Twelve Oakes. It’s not even close to a plantation of any sort.
But it’s ours…………swamp and all…
The high and the low land. (The bugs were thrown in for free.)
We now have 4.8 acres more………………and no neighbors right beside us.
Phew, that was close…
*****Like I’ve said before………………I don’t do Prada.
(Although, I would like to go to the Prado someday.)
I don’t do designer clothes, bags, or shoes, but………..
………………..I do do land.
The only part of the property next to us that was build-able was up by the road.
If someone else had bought the land, that would mean we would be constantly looking into their back windows…………………….hearing their arguments…………………………smelling their food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For a recluse………………………………………….I just couldn’t wrap my head around that.
I’m not meant to have neighbors————-that whole apple pie and borrowed cup of sugar thing just wouldn’t fly with me.
Anyone that bought that land would have gone blind from accidentally viewing my semi-nakidity as a result of my shedding clothes during the summer heat to avoid outrageous A/C bills…………………..See “What We Do—–Horse Breeding——” post/published September 24, 2017).
There’s just no way this old dog can learn new tricks……………………I’m only just paper-trained, and I still bite.
But tomorrow the funds get wired to the appropriate places and the deeds get shuffled into the appropriate names………..
And I don’t have to learn new behaviors. I can still run with scissors; eat my crayons; primal scream into the swamp; and trip the moonlit life fantastic in whatever I choose for clothing.
