Quietness

Quietness

It’s one of those times when everyone (of the ten-toed/bi-ped variety) are gone.

It’s just me and the fluffies and fuzzies.

I like that.

I’ll even count the dust-bunnies in that category.  They are friends too. (They are big enough to warrant collars and rabies tags).

I’ve got Satie playing.  Paul Williams just finished.  I don’t know how many cups of tea I’ve motored through.

Life is good.

It really is the little things that make the difference over all.  (Except for the very giant dust-bunnies, of course.)

It’s that whole “seeing the forest for the trees” thing.

The Wolfhounds are napping.

I believe in letting sleeping dogs lie…

They’ve had a good breakfast (dripping with the oils and orts from last night’s cheap chicken dinner)……….

………………….and yes, I feed table scrapes…………………………

I’m sure the good-owner police will find me and slap my hands…

I think a few dinner left-overs have got to rank fairly high—–compared to raided litter boxes, scarfed horse manure, or the piece-de-resistance (minus the aigu & grave accents)—–the scored hoof-trimmings after the blacksmith’s visit…

Now that gives the hounds REALLY bad breath!

And a guaranteed hurl in your slippers in the middle of the night.

Don’t let them lick your face after THAT snackle!

Oh well…

I digress———-don’t I?………                  Sorry, Lola.

I do believe I am going to retire to the dining room table, closer to my boom-box-playing Satie, and my stained glass project.

Working on Dee Dee’s Stained Glass Panel

I’m finishing up my Dee Dee panel.

**********I should do more fence repair.  But if my crying, younger daughter getting locked in the pasture last night after the gate chain crossed a hot, electric wire is any indication………………the fence is hot enough for me to give it a rest for a day.**********

I’ll be starting on Fly Girl’s panel next.   See (“Hunt Horses~~~They’re All Great~~~Every Single One”)  Post/Published—October 17, 2017.

The fun thing with stained glass is that with a monochromatic, white horse like Fly Girl—–there are so many different glasses that can be used to set off the simple white and add definition.

Cathedral, hammered, stipple, high strike (I love that one), iridescent, streaky, water-glass, opaque, seeded……………the list goes on and on.

       I love glass………

Millefiori Door Knob

I’ve just discovered demijohn bottles, and art glass marbles, and witch’s globes, and millefiori door knobs.

It’s a dichotomy that I live such a chaotic, farm life————and I’m drawn to fragile, art glass……………………..and huge dust-bunnies.

I’d better stop journaling and start cutting glass.  I still have to finish Dee Dee’s button braids.

But first, another cup of tea……………….and then do what you have to do……………after too much tea…
