Yep…..it’s a post about my older daughter’s Jack Russell Terrier…..

…..Drogo is built like a column…..a dense/muscled/inflexible column…..

His attitude is so large and in charge…..ALL the time…..

I was looking at the photos I have of Drogo…..

…..they speak for themselves…..

…..for being such a little dog…..he has SO much presence…..

…..he is ALWAYS “that elephant” in the room…..

…..(even in a room full of Irish Wolfhounds)…..

Recently my daughter was trying to train Drogo NOT to lay on the back of the loveseat…..

…..(much like ALL of the cats…..and my younger daughter’s Papillon)…..

My daughter felt that Drogo was too heavy and would crush down the back of the couch…..

It’s been fun watching a terrier’s mind at work…..the burning metal…..the whirring gears…..

…..as soon as my daughter would leave the room…..

…..Drogo would jump back up on that forbidden spot & get settled in…..

…..as soon as my daughter would re-enter the room…..

…..he’d get down & get scolded…..he’d truly (?) feel remorseful for his actions…..

…..he’d immediately tuck his stubby tail…..and curl up on the appropriate/allowed cushions on the loveseat…..

…..(FYI—the reason why the top of the loveseat is the best perch in the den…..is because you can get a bird’s eye view of ALL of the comings & goings in the kitchen AND the den)…..

…..It’s the Cat Bird’s Seat…..(*****What’s That Mean???*****)

…..(if I were a house pet…..I’d want to sit there)…..

My younger daughter and I won’t stop Drogo from perching on the back of the couch…..he knows it’s cool with us…..

But…..he’s gotten so good at listening for my older daughter’s footsteps & diving down into perfect-puppy-compliance…..off the back of the couch…..

I think I’ve convinced my daughter to just cave and let Drogo sit where he wants too………….(he’s going to anyway)…..

……at least he’s not asking for the car keys…..

…..you just never know with terriers…..

…..if given the opportunity…..they will take over the world…..
