I’m feeling duped…..

You know that feeling when you’re insides say something’s not right…but the “professionals” around you keep saying that everything’s just fine(?)…..

That has recently happened to me…..

My (2002 F-350 Ford Dually) truck has six tires…it’s served me well…I intend to be buried in it…..

But it recently needed new tires…(really it needs all six new tires…but the tire guy said four would be fine)…..

And the nice man proceeded to put on four new tires on the back axle of my dually…he said the front tires were okay and could last for awhile longer…..

He asked if we wanted off-road or highway tires…we chose tires for the highway…..

My daughters and I sat in the truck…and the new tires were put on…and paid for…and we were on our way…..

But…………………

…..things did NOT seem right…..

My older daughter was at the wheel…and even in the passengers seat…I could feel the oddities…..

First of all…it felt like we were driving on ice…..

…..the tires made the steering unresponsive…it felt like we were drifting all over the road…..

At speeds above 45 mph things got dramatically worse…..

We called our mechanic…and he said it was a new coating that “they” have been putting on tires and the tires need to have about 300 miles put on them to wear off the “slipperiness”…..

I want to find out who “they” are…and kick them in the shins…..

We even went back to our mechanic…and he checked out other potentially related things under my truck to see if there was anything else that could be causing my truck’s ice-skating response…..

He said there were a couple things that could be fixed…down the road…but they weren’t causing any problems at the moment…..

We went back to where we originally bought the tires…and as we expected…the tire guy said it wasn’t a big deal…(?)…and it would wear off (in 1000 miles or so?)…and it’s just what to expect from new tires now?…..

What is it 300 miles…1000…2 or 3 thousand miles?………….What?…..

Bull Shit!  This is dangerous!…..

We hauled the shorter gooseneck horse trailer yesterday…the weight improved the dangerous “meandering”………….but only marginally…..

My daughter (who is a great driver) said the truck was still late in responding and felt like it was skidding & fish-tailing on the road…..

This is Totally UnResolved…and I’ll keep you posted…..

But if it looks like B.S…Reacts like B.S…and in your Heart of Hearts you know it’s B.S…..
