My Birthday present arrived in the mail…..

…..it was so worth the wait!…..

My older daughter researched the Best Froe Ever!…..

***Please Tell Me What’s This Fore-Thing***

It was slightly delayed because of the exceptionally scorching heat-wave that has been searing the states in the northwest…..

My froe was made in Oregon…..and Oregon has been broiling under record-breaking heat…..

…..I can’t imagine working at a forge along with being in this historic heat-wave…..

Understandably the forge closed for awhile…..

My daughter’s extensive-froe-research revealed that a forged froe is far better than a welded froe…..

…..and the angle of the cutting edge should not be a 50/50 split…..

…..it should be…..whatever the above picture shows…..

…..the blade should not be permanently fixed to the handle…..but removable…..

Apparently there are a lot of chat rooms out there about froes and their construction……and wedge-edges…..

…..my older daughter told me they were filled with informative/grumpy old men…..

…..who knew?…..

…..my daughter said that she had joined in on some of the “froe debates”…..

…..mostly listening…..

…..because apparently these old guys took their froes very seriously and the discussions got quite heated…..

…..again…..who knew?…..

…..(personally I’m surprised that this cross-section of froe-enthusiasts would even be the pie-wedge of people who would use a computer…..much less find a chat room)…..

…..(I put myself in that wedge of the pie)…..

…..(and yes, I write a regular computer blog…..but I really only know about five buttons to push to post things…..and the rest is all QWERTY on a keyboard)…..

So my perfect froe is here…..and I am happy…..

I’ll have to wait for the weather to become cooler…..

…..I’ll start cutting up firewood when it’s more tolerable outside…..

…..but I now have another cool tool to assist me in making fires…..
