Just How Tall Is My Horse?

I still don’t know exactly…..

…..all this time…..I’ve been assuming…..

…..horse heights are kind of like fish-stories…..they get bigger with the re-telling…..

I haven’t actually “put a stick” on her…..

…..no…..that’s not true…..

…..I’ve attempted a couple times…..

…..but I gave up…..’cuz it didn’t work…..

“The Stick” I’m referring to is a way to measure the height of a horse…..

…..it is literally a stick or a cane or a measuring bar that you can extend to measure the tallness of your horse…..

…..at the withers (their shoulders)…..

But the variety of “sticks” that I currently have don’t stretch tall enough to measure big Addy…..

…..we max-out their measuring potential…..

Addy’s super tall…..

I’ve estimated that she’s well into the 18 hand area…..

…..but even my tallest stick only goes to about 18.0 hands…..and she’s taller…..

What I need to do is to chalk her height on a wall and then measure the mark with a standard tape measure…..

…..(then divide by four)…..

…..(because a hand measurement for a horse is four inches)…..

…..(I wonder how that got started?)…..

Suffice to say…..Addy is ridiculously & bodacious-ly…..tall…..

I appear to have an incurable desire for atomically-tall horses…..

…..(I’m the last person who should be on such tall mounts)…..

…..(I still can’t figure out why the Addy-bitch kicked me?)…..

…..I love her…..and she’s my pretty-pretty-princess-pony…..
