Our Hunt Club recently had our Invitational Hunt…..

…..it was also combined with our annual Halloween Costume Contest…..

I was surprised that the horses weren’t afraid of their riders…..

…..one rider had on a full-body/shark costume…..

…..and her horse was okay with it…..!?!…..

…..Wow…..

…..that speaks volumes for that horse…..

There were Dragons…and Clowns…and Specters…and Dr. Seuss…and Angels…and Hillbillies…..

Plus…..it was an amazing Hunt too…..

…..they got on a bobcat run which was a great Tally Ho…..until he (or she) veered off-property and the run halted…..

Horses and hounds and riders all had a great day…..

…..there was a real/live chill in the morning air…..

…..people actually wore jackets………….jackets!?!…..

…..(for a little while)…..

…..afterwards there was a great Tea with some wonderful Hunt Club chili and cornbread…..

I took my retro-boom-box with appropriate CD’s…..

…..you know…..because background music (added to a boisterous Tea) is always so important…..

…..I brought some chèvre/goat cheese (my friend/Doctor Brigid actually made the cheese—I didn’t)…..

…..there was lots of Halloween candy and prizes for the costume contest…..

…..(I still can’t believe the shark costume didn’t traumatize more horses)…..

But that’s the value of a good Hunt Horse…..

********A Hunt Horse has to be athletic…..willing…..intelligent…..and SANE…..!*******

The sanity is important…..

…..(because so often)…..

…..(their riders aren’t)…..
