I’m not impressed with this bird…..

She’s made some very bad decisions as a mother…..

Who knows how many of her babies will actually make it to adulthood…..(?)…..

She IS going to remain in the turkey coop…..

She’s not responsible enough to be a free-range hen…..

She’ll stay in there with her remaining babies…..

Additionally…..I’ve put the young French Black Copper Maran rooster in the same turkey coop…..

(to safe-guard him and hopefully add to his longevity here on the farm)

(and because I am prepping for the up-coming 2021 Florida State Fair Poultry Show)

(I’m organizing my assault and stacking the deck)

I also have a Barnevelder rooster who’s coming along…..

(there haven’t been many (if any) Barnevelders in the poultry competition so far…..)

…..I’ve been planning ahead…..

…..compulsive much?…..

…..competitive much?…..

I’ve been cruising for some obscure (but reasonable) chicken breeds to up the odds for winning at the fair…..this coming February…..

…..if the fair is still going to be held…..

…..because of the Covid-19 Corona virus…..

…..and the necessity for social distancing…..

…..State Fair midway crowds are not conducive to that…..

I was talking about the errant mother hen…..

…..she currently has only six (6) baby chicks left…..

…..she’s lost fifty percent of her babies…..!!!…..

…..I wonder if she’s even aware or can do the math…..(?)…..

Like I said…..

…..she’s not free-range-worthy…..

…..she will stay in the turkey coop with the other “rogue” hens…..
