Designer Logs

Designer Logs

Esther gave me a fireplace log-in-a-bag.

Who knew!?!             Ignitable logs in bags(?)

……………..Esther handed it to me in a Dillard’s bag (hence the “designer log” name/Esther shops at Dillard’s a lot/I’m more of a GoodWill shopper).

The log had extensive, multi-lingual directions.

It told me what to do and warned me against the obvious.

Of course, I ignited it immediately and started it burning.

The darn thing even had a burning duration time listed on the label…………………..AND it was accurate!

How do they know?          And, what is it made of?

The flame was so pretty and uniform……….it burned for two whole hours.

…….no poking the fire was necessary either———or singeing your fingers and/or arm hair while rearranging the wood.  (Fireplace pokers are for weenies.)

It behaved professionally in almost regimented fashion.

……….no dangerous sparks……….or rolling, spitting, overly-smoking logs.

Where’s the challenge!

(I like the rolling, spitting, overly-smoking logs.)

(I like interactive fires.)

The other rainy day, I was burning logs that were water-logged & simultaneously dripping with steaming water…………….I’m proud to say I can just about light a fire anywhere.

(Fire starting should be an entry on my curriculum vitae.)

The directions on the designer log were clear cut, specific and sequential…

(I didn’t follow them.)

I used it as a gigantic, well-timed kindling log……………I wasn’t supposed to…

I know on occasion I describe myself as running with scissors………….I also play with matches…………..I love the smoke………….I love the mesmerizing shifting flames and patterns…………I also love sniffing spent shotgun shells too……………TMI (?)…

So back to the Dura-Logs………………………cool beans…………………….thanks Esther.

It’s great having a friend who understands you, while at the same time supplies your addictions.

I wonder if the ashes are collected in the original bag so that they can be neatly dispatched?

Oh, wait……………is that the Fire Marshal knocking at the front door?
