Being motivated for a perfect Cosmopolitan…..

…..I was so pleased to find that there might be hope for my little Persian lime tree…..

…..(I’ve been hiding it in my yard for awhile now)…..

…..(I figured it would be all right)…..

…..(because I don’t have any other citrus trees on the property)…..

…..(and the nearest groves are miles & miles away…..and dead)…..

…..but my little Persian lime tree has been plugging along…..

…..I started it from a spit-out pip…..

…..and I’ve nurtured it to this point…..

It hasn’t bore any fruit yet…..(and that’s a concern)…..

…..but the little tree is looking good…..

I’ve had to save it from rooting pigs…..and a rooting Anja…..along with other various critters…..

….I keep dragging it to safety…..and occasionally having to re-pot the poor little thing…..

But with regards to the Huanglongbing Disease…..(and yes, that’s the Chinese name for it)…..

…..there appears to be some hope on the horizon…..

As recently as this last summer, “they” (the scientists) seem to be developing a treatment…..

…..based on peptides derived from the Australian Finger Lime…..

…..(which appears to be resistant to the Huanglongbing Disease)…..
