I just wanted to show a photo comparison of little Amy’s progression…..

…..then and now…..

She was the littlest/itty-bitty/gray Irish Wolfhound puppy in Willow’s litter…..

…..odds were that she wouldn’t make it…..

…..I shouldn’t use the past tense…..because she’s very much amongst us…..

…..but this little pup played the odds…..

Amy’s come such a long way…..

…..she’s a fighter…..she never considered not surviving…..

I think we’ve discussed “Fading Puppy Syndrome” before in previous posts…..

*****Fading Puppy Syndrome/I Hate It*****

I was both worried and scared that this was going to apply to Amy…..

…..I was ready for the worst…..but wanted to try as hard as possible to avoid it…..

The little pup-kins had all the hallmarks of succumbing to the syndrome…..

…..she was such a tiny/tiny pup…..

…..and like I said…..the odds just weren’t in her favor…..

So I started out with tube feeding her on a very regular & frequent basis…..

…..that way she wouldn’t have to use her limited energy with fighting for a teat…..

…..(again the value of fresh goat milk…..it’s like manna from heaven)…..

…..(thank you again Doctor Brigid for sharing your goat’s milk with our babies)…..

…..(none of my does are in milk now)…..(and Doctor Brigid’s are kidding all over the place)…..

Willow’s littlest puppy just continues to hang in there…..beyond what I had anticipated in my heart-of-hearts…..

…..I think I may have already mentioned that I’d tube-fed the entire litter several times…..I didn’t think they were hydrated enough…..(so I “topped-them-off”)…..(perhaps I was being just an itsy-bitsy paranoid)…..

…..but that was before Willow’s milk actually “came in” with adequate volume…..

…..(she has more than enough now)…..
