In a previous post (***Disappointed Poultry***) I mentioned being “distracted” by Irish Wolfhounds in season…..

At this point…we’re all very experienced at keeping the appropriate Wolfhounds separate from each other…at the appropriate times…..

I just don’t want any pending litters of puppies during the up-coming time of year when I can actually go outside and ride…..

I’ll plan a litter in six months…that would mean puppies in late spring….

…..but cool weather is around the corner…and I’d like to spend time outside…and if we had puppies…I’d need to stay alongside Mama & her babies…..

Ben is quite experienced at circumventing our contraceptive-controls…..

…..HA!…..

…..by that I mean…we have baby-gates compartmentalizing rooms…keeping a lot of square footage between Ben and whoever is feeling amorous at the time…..

A friend of mine smears Vick’s VapoRub between the nostrils on her stallion’s muzzle…to help take his mind off the girls…..

…..maybe I should try that with Ben…..(?)…..

…..(What’s Vick’s?…It’s Good Stuff)…..

…..besides…I like the smell…..

…..my Aunt Cory puts it on her feet under cotton socks when she has a cold…(it works)…..

Usually the girls come into season one after another…I always worry about Ben because he starts pining & looses his appetite & hardly eats any meals…..

…..and with sequential girls…driving him nuts…for so many weeks on end…he looses weight…..

Well…if we (the bi-peds) play our cards right…Ben’s not getting lucky this time…..

…..Sorry—Dude…..

Set your sights on the springtime…..

…..only if we can stay ahead of your scheming & planning this time…..

…..and we know from past experience (and bruises) that you’re not above plowing us over…..

Having a house full of Irish Wolfhounds isn’t as easy as it looks…..HA!…..

I don’t like kenneling them…they are part of the family…..

…..they’re indulged with air conditioning and kitchen-counter-cruising and sneaking toilet bowl drinks (if we forget to put the lid down)…..
