The new Fox Hunt Season is just around the corner…..

…..well…it’s actually already begun…..

Even though our first Hunt for Cubbing Season isn’t until the beginning of October…..

…..we just had our Annual Business Meeting…..

It’s that yearly get-together after the heat of the summer and the long off-season…..

We all go a little stir-crazy…..

…..going from air-conditioned houses…to air-conditioned cars…to air-conditioned whatevers…..

We’re all alittle desperate for conversations with other horse-people…anything to do with horses…hounds…and hunting…anything at all…..

Invest 98L Models View

Honestly…it’s still miserable riding weather (along with the looming potential of Invest 98L buzzing around out there)…..

So getting really excited about sitting on a slippery/sweaty horse…while sweating and shvitzing yourself…in the hot/steamy rain…with air so thick you can slice it…..

…..(it’s kind of hard to get excited and enthusiastic and earnest about the whole process)…..

But…a chilled/icy wind…in a glacial/cold dawn (along with insulated underwear with warm toes)…..

Now…THAT’s something to look forward to!…(for that one day in early January)…..

…..I know I’m whining…..

It’s just that the summer’s been so hot…and the mud smells…and it’s just so…well…muddy…..

…..and I’m tired of sweating…and getting salt in my eyes when I hug my horse…..

…..(I’d worry more if they weren’t sweating…but I just want to complain)…..

Our Hunt Club has so many brave/stalwart members who ride all summer long…..

…..my horses just doze in the shade…..

…..(I know I’m a weenie)…(I know)…..

…..but I’m a consistent weenie…..

I’m looking forward to this coming Hunt Season a lot…Floridians have the opposite of what Northerners experience in the winter…..

Where people up North develop “cabin fever” during the winter months…because they’re stuck indoors due to inclement weather…..

…..we get the same thing in the summer months…for the opposite weather extremes…..

All in all…I can’t wait to get back outside…and not get carried away by the bugs…or slip off the saddle from sweat (and lack of leg grip)…..

…..We’re Here Again…Finally!…..

…..Yippee!…Tally Ho!…and Kick On!…..
