I was out with Claire and Finley yesterday afternoon…..

…..just watching…..

…..(well actually I was putting “Goop” on some spring-fly-sores)…..

…..and watching…..

Finley was on turbo-over-drive!…..

…..I felt so sorry for Claire…..

…..he was biting her hocks…..

…..he was biting her tail…..

…..he bit her on the nostril once while I was watching…..

…..he’d twist in the air and kick her at the same time…..

…..he would rear up and pummel her with his front hooves like she was a snare drum…..

…………………WHY?…..FINLEY…..WHY?…………………

Claire just slowly turns her important parts away from him…..or out of his reach…..

…..(which is getting harder the taller he gets)…..

I’m dragging my feet weaning him…..

…..although it has to happen soon…..

But I just read an article about foal bone-density differences if weaned at four & one half months old versus six months…..

Apparently there’s a marked difference…..

But Finley’s such a butt-head…..

Mary Constance suggested partially weaning him…..with still some time spent on mom…..

…..that way mom would get some precious/much-needed “Alone-Time” from the dude…..

…..I think we’ll give that a try…..

…..yesterday Claire looked like she just wanted to cry…..

…..and Finley was continuing to totally abuse her as a battering-ram, and a soccer ball, and a punching bag…..

She’s been sooooo patient………….
