When in doubt…..
…..buy more pigs…..
…..apparently…that’s become a thing…..

Interspersed with all of our hurricane clean up…and then perusing Craig’s List during rest breaks…we came across a pig farm who was struggling with post-Milton water issues…..
An unfortunate farm a little south of us had most of their pastures flood…..

…..short…inflexible pigs with snouts about four to six inches above the ground…can’t deal with too much submerging or water…..
The people were thinking about getting out of KuneKune pigs anyway…they’d had ten years of experience with the piggels already…and wanted to try sheep…..(?)

Why…I do not know…I don’t ask questions…..
Hurricane Milton just accelerated their decision…..

Their bloodlines were different…and Clover and Beau have worked out and fit in so well here…..
…..my daughters and I figured…what’s a couple more pigs(?)…..
And so…we went to get them…..

We drove down with the small horse trailer…and came home with two more little girls…who are about one year old…..
Our pens have dried out (enough)…..

Beau and Clover are enjoying the fresh air in their large duplex…but the small pen (which is normally for MaMa Pig) was available and dry enough…..

MaMa Pig is still in the stall in the barn…so she’s not complaining…..

We’ll need to build another pen for MaMa…..
But first we’ll have to locate what happened to our surplus stack of welded metal panels…after Milton…..

…..while we’re busy making plans…life happens…..
It’s important to keep your tap shoes on…or sometimes even your track shoes (the ones with cleats)…..

But regardless…it’s always one foot (very unceremoniously) in front of the other…..
Our neighborhood smells of burning wood piles…..
Doctor Brigid said they are well over ninety front-end loader piles of debris collected and burned from their pasture…..

My older daughter found a pink shrimp (???) in one of our piles of flood debris?…..
Doctor Brigid also found this odd critter wandering around her yard after Hurricane Milton…..

She said she researched it…(After She Picked It Up)…and found it wasn’t poisonous…..
Apparently it’s called an Eastern Toe Biter…(duhhhh!)…..
