But we did it…..

One more Halloween Hunt Club Tea under our belt…..

There were about forty people at our Guest Hunt event last Saturday…..

I believe a good time was had by all…but honestly…I’m still cross-eyed tired…..

But we got everything down to the host’s ranch ahead of time in the morning…..

We were set up before the field came back in…..

I think they got on a coyote run…but I’m really not sure…..

What food was supposed to be hot was hot…what was supposed to be cold was cold…..

Nothing dumped or got smooshed or exploded en route…(and that’s a good thing)…..

The only bile-producing moment of panic was when I realized that the salad dressing and croutons did NOT make it into one of the packed boxes…..

But our gracious hostess had dressing to spare…(which was wonderful because the nearest grocery store was over eight miles away)…..

…..(so…screw the croutons)…..

Amazon had magically delivered a mega hot plate the night before the event…and it had it’s big debut at our Tea under the chili…..

I weighed our gigantor chili pot on our scale before loading it into the truck…and it came in at 37.6 pounds)…..

…..(that’s a lot of rocket fuel and gas potential)…..

I’m quite glad everyone went their separate ways before digestion really took hold…..

…..(but I digress)…..

My boombox’s cassettes filled the quiet moments (which weren’t many)…..

The decorations were suitably ghoulish…..

And even though the day started out with a wisp of a cool breeze…..

…..it was quickly extinguished into a squelched out sweat puddle…..

I was proud of my Rice Krispie Treats…they didn’t succumb to the heat…..

…..once they were cut and put on their tray…they held their posture-perfect-profile throughout the rising heat of the steamy day…..

Dr. Brigid’s chèvre was quickly & thoroughly consumed (scarfed down was more like it) …the goat cheese never had a chance to get over-heated…..

There was leftover salad and melted butter…(but MaMa pig was very happy to hear about that)…..

All in All…it was a great morning…(we got home between 4:00 and 5:00 in the afternoon)…..

The Wolfhounds didn’t destroy the house…or leave us “presents” or “puddles”…..

Everyone was in their appropriate cages and/or paddocks when we returned…..

So we are counting our blessings wherever we find them…the big and the small…..

…..It Was A Very Good Day…..
