Weather Report

Just checked in with the Wunderground Weather site for the day.
It’s a daily must.
We got Florence. We got Isaac. We got Helene. They are all just swirling away out there in the Atlantic.
It looks like, at least, Helene will twirl all by herself out in the middle of the ocean.

I’m keeping my eye on Isaac……………and Florence looks bad.
Not necessarily bad for us here in the Gulf of Mexico.
But bad for further up the eastern coastline.
I know all too well the tense, acidic apprehension they are feeling right now…………….nothing you can do but watch & wait…………………and/or evacuate…

Which reminds me. I have to charge the battery in Old Sparky (our generator).
I need to rake out around it too.
Chicken feathers and dried poo can work a lot like peat or tinder…………………why do those birds insist on perching on the generator?
Sometimes (quite often actually) I re-think the idea of “free-range” chickens.
Their toilet habits are the worst.
And yes, I am still stepping in their poo on a regular basis………………….sigh……………………some things are reliable constants of the universe.
The earth revolves around the sun, the universe is expanding, and I will always step in the freshest chicken poop available……………..that stuff has a magnetism about it.

Yes, it does.
Oh! Oh! Oh! ~~~~~~~~~~ my young chicks have just started laying!
Little, tiny, pullet-sized eggs.

Yippee!!!
Everything is right with the world!………….even though the universe is expanding (is that bad?), and the sun seems to still be rising in the east (I’m pretty sure that’s really good)………….however, hurricanes are sprouting left and right.
But for this morning………..today……….my young hens are starting to lay eggs and the world is just.
I’ll go now and charge the generator’s battery, wash off my chicken-poo feet, and get on with the day…………….

My heart goes out to those in Hurricane Florence’s cross-hair sights………………stock up on your water and can goods and keep your heads down………………and keep the cats out of the Hurricane Box………………..
Some things I am quite sure of.
