Water Tanks Come And Go

Water Tanks Come And Go

Poppy & Anya

We put Anja and Poppy into Mason’s old pasture in the back yard…

The Wolfhounds thought this was the best thing EVER…

Mason Cavorting

…..except for the fact that two draft ponies have no intention of running away from or panicking about the barking/bounding/bouncing Wolfhounds…

…..they just stand and stare…..not interested at all in the Irish mob on the other side of the field fencing…

…..they doze with half-closed eyes…..staring into the middle distance…..chewing on their cud (if they had a cud)…

…..the hounds (out of the resulting/unmanifested terror) turn on each other and have a slap-stick/smack-down (which I enjoy watching while standing by the door with a hot cup of tea)…

However when transferring the ponies into the backyard pasture…..I noticed that the resident water tank would not hold much water…….

………….that was an understatement………….

So, I filled it with the directed stream from a hose and found a couple (five) matchstick-sized-holes…….

…..J. D. Weld to the rescue…….

…..considering it is frowned upon by my family when I use SuperGlue…….J. D. Weld can be a very satisfying substitute…….

…..(plus, it gives me time to unstick myself before it hardens and anyone notices)…..

I started mixing and swirling the two tubes together (have you ever noticed how warm it gets under the scrap cardboard where you are stirring it?)…….(but it doesn’t smell as nice as PVC glue…….just saying…)

Then I started dabbing and poking it into the visible holes…….

…..and upon closer examination…….there were more holes…….

…..and sweaty rust spots for future holes…….

…..and just when I was deciding that there were too many holes to J. D. Weld…….

…..I disgustedly got up from where I was wallowing in the dirt (I already had lots of flora & fauna stuck on me from dribbled & smeared J. D. Weld)…….

…..sigh…..

…..you know how old people have to get all convoluted & contorted when they are trying to get up off the ground…….?

…..and how they have to lean on their nobbly/white/swollen knuckles to push themselves up off the ground…….?

…..well that was me and Patrice…….

…..except I put my hand on the water tank to push my old bones up to a wobbly/vertical position…..

…..and I happened to push on the tank’s old (rusty) welded-seam…….and that poor, old thing popped open from top to bottom…….with so much daylight shining through…….

…..that would take a lot of J. D. Weld to fix…….

…..and I’m glad I’ve had a tetanus shot…….

…..and…….screw it…….

I gathered my multiple/sticky tubes and I headed back to the house…….(along with my newly affixed flora & fauna)…
