This Old House

This Old House

I guess we put enough lights on the Christas tree this year…

Well, maybe we put a few too many…

This Is Me Enjoying Our Christmas Tree

…..my younger daughter and I had to go out to run some errands…….

…..and when we came back and tried plugging in the tree…….everything stayed dark…….

…..not just the tree…….but the ceiling fan…….and other wall plugs and lights in the kitchen too…….

…..no fuses were flipped…….hmmmmmmmm…

But this house has ALWAYS been unique…….

…..that’s an understatement…..

Here’s another example of some of our home’s oddities…

…..this morning I went out to shift around the horses and feed them their rations…….

Addy & Brave

…..I purposely left the front door closed (even though there was a nice, cool, cross-breeze that would have aired out the house a bit)………….(remember we have twelve pooping/pee’ing puppies in the house, along with five fairly continent adult Wolfhounds……..not to mention the passel of smelly/litter-bomb-producing cats).

…..Ah, I love the smell of dirty litter boxes in the morning…..

…..but back to the house’s oddities…..

I didn’t want to open the front door (even though the fresh air was desperately needed), because Long John Silver (the geriatric Cockatoo) is on the front porch…….and he regularly/routinely/& raucously salutes the morning…EVERY day…

Long John Silver

…..I was trying to be considerate to my still sleeping younger daughter and my husband…….

…..Long John is muted and tolerable with the front door closed…

…..but with the front door open…..he’s an ear-piercing menace…….

And so, I went out to do my barn chores………….and when I came back in…..the front door was wide open…….(?)

…..my daughter was still sleeping by the Christmas tree…….

…..and Paolo was still sound asleep with his C-PAP machine gurgling away…….

When I woke them a little later…….neither one had opened the door…….(I’d like to add that our front door has a very sturdy & sticky deadbolt…….)

…..hmmmmmmmmm……..

So now with the mysterious/multiple electrical outages…….along with the unlatched swinging front door (and a very quiet Cockatoo, I might add)…….I’m thinking maybe Sabrina, our horse psychic, may have acknowledged & awakened a few (not so distant past) inhabitants of this tact of land…….

*****We’re doing our research to find out more about the historic activities in this area*****

The Timucua Indians were the Native American Indian tribe in this part of Florida…….

*****Learning About The Timucua Tribe*****

I need to learn more…

I need to learn more about this land’s history…

I’m quite sure it’s going to be interesting…
