The Spring Plant Sale
*******Please Subscribe To My Blog…..It Really Helps*******

The local University’s botanical society just hosted their Annual Spring Plant Sale…..
My daughters both went…..

They took our “State Fair wagon” with them…..

…..that’s kind of scary…because when you have the capacity to drag a wagon around with you…..

…..you also have the ability to fill it…..
And that’s exactly what happened…..

My daughters bought lots of young fruit bearing trees and bushes…..

A few years ago…I dutifully bought and planted and cared for a number of various blackberry bushes…and fruit bushes…and little fruit bearing trees…..

And then the dairy goats…(along with the help of a virtually non-existent electric pasture fence)…..
…..thoroughly and quickly…demolished…stripped…and ate…all of the new…tender…(and $$$) foliage…..

It’s not like the goats were under fed…or starving…..
They even had really good hay in front of their fat faces all the time…..

No…they just wanted to zero in on the new stuff…and vacuum it all up…..

…..(it’s at times like that…that I udderly (stop it) hate goats)…..

So my daughters did purchase quite a few goodies at the Plant Sale…..
…..there’s a Matsumoto Persimmon tree…and a Sugar Apple tree (we’ll need to plant it in a protected area–we might be a little too far north for this fruit)…..

My daughters also got two Guanabana trees (also known as Soursop trees)…along with two Traveler Blackberry bushes…..

And then they both kindly bought me some more blackberry bushes…..
I want to give them another try…as our fence will be up to charge shortly…and we don’t have any dairy goats…(at the present time)…..

So the next step is planting all of these new sprout-lets…..
We’re adding perlite to the soil mixture this time…to help the good nematodes and discourage the bad nematodes…..

Please don’t ask me how that works…I couldn’t pick out a good nematode from a bad nematode in a crowd…..
My first impressions are never accurate…..

I “think” my Persian Lime tree is making a comeback…..
…..it’s a hardy resilient little tree…..
And against the common consensus (my older daughter)…I don’t think I was the sole cause of its near demise…..

The hose I left on (for many days) was responsible too…(hey, I thought it was thirsty…and then I forgot)…..
I guess by now it’s fairly clear…I am not the Green Thumb in this Family…..
…..Oh Well…I’ll just keep trying…all the while under my older daughter’s discerning scrutiny…..
