In some ways the time has flown by…..

In other ways…I feel like we’ve paid our pound of flesh…..

…..if only the purple & blue shadowing under my eyes could be transferred to my upper eyelids like eye makeup…it might just look good…..

Sabine’s eight puppies are almost ready to start going to their new homes…most of them are going to previous Irish Wolfhound owners…or referrals from friends…..

…..this part…never…gets easier…..

…..it’s always hard letting them go…..

We are keeping Eowyn (one of Sabine’s daughters)…and there’s Piper…and Sif…and Finn who already have names…..

At this point…they weigh in at around twenty pounds…it amazes me how quickly they grow…..

The entire litter started out in a medium-sized plastic tub…which quickly became a larger container…that then became two containers…then one large wire crate…then two…and now three large crates…..

As all the puppies find homes…the volume of crates will be diminished…one by one…..

…..until Eowyn is in one…which will become her personal home…until she can be trusted to roam the house with the rest of our fuzzy urchins…..

…..(and that’s when vigilance is necessary…in order to spare furniture legs…and chewed shoes…and clothes…and various knick-knacks…and cabinets…and cabinet knobs…et al)…..

…..It’s the Puppy-Dance…..

…..And We Know It Well…..

We intend to socialize Eowyn so that we can take her and her father Acacias to Renaissance Festivals and Medieval Fairs…..

We don’t make it very far…we’re always stopped by fair-goers…we almost become part of the festival’s traveling acts…..

…..the hounds love it…they love the attention…they love the roasted turkey legs…(and anything else they can opportunistically snag)…..

Well…that’s our plan…like I’ve said before…we’re more feral here than we’d like to admit…..

…..and…our Wolfhound pack continues…..

Maybe…just around the corner…there might be more time for uninterrupted sleep…..
