Yep…they did…..

…..on down the road…..

…..at around three in the morning…..

This is on the heels of the entirety of our goat herd walking out of their pasture…..

What’s happened is…..

…..WE HAVE CRAP FENCING!…..

…..(and I don’t want to talk about it)…..

…..it’s a long long story…..

…..with a lot of heated expletives…..

However…..here’s the skinny on the saga…..

…..we had the rainy-season…..that flooded the back (goat) pasture…..and they couldn’t get out…..

…..now we have the dry-season…..the swamp water’s gone away…..

…..and the goats (all of them)-(17?)…..are just walking out…..

…..(if I were them…..I would too)…..

We have an electric fence charger…..and my older daughter found out the other day…..

…..that it was connected to nothing…..

…..(do I sound incensed?)…..

…..You bet’cha!…..

A few days ago we had a squall-line move through…..with some wind gusts…..

…..I’d like to say it blew a tree over the fencing…..and that’s how Addy & Anja walked out…..

…..but that’s not true…..

…..the fencing was so pathetic…..and grounded out attached to a dead tree trunk that it just broke…..

…..and Addy & Anja walked out…..

At about 3:45am we got a call from a nice neighbor on his way to work, saying our horses were walking down the street…..!?!…..

…..I have to tell you…..

…..that’s a real eye-opener…..(it beats a stiff espresso)…..

Flashlights…..lead ropes…..prayers…..buckets of food…..halters…..

…..all quickly flew out the door…..down the driveway…..and down the road…..

Addy & Anja didn’t know what all the fuss was about…..

…..(fortunately we are on a dead-end road)…..(in the swamp)…..(and it was the wee hours of the morning)…..

The porky ponies were easily caught…..(because their heads were plastered into our feed buckets)…..

…..and they were led home…..

…..the only sign they were ever in the neighbor’s yard was a big (unidentifiable) dump that Addy left on their lawn…..

Geez!  Louise!

I guess my daughter and I will be running the fence line here again shortly…..

…..(no wonder my housework never gets accomplished…..hot-wiring fencing takes priority over dusting…..any day of the week)…..
