FINALLY!

The pigs have new additions to their abode currently underway…..

…..and the reconstruction is almost completed…..!!!…..

Tra!  La!

FINALLY!

…..this is all because of our skilled friend, Ralph…..

Last week Ralph chain-sawed some of our stored telephone poles…..

He made them into some very sturdy/big/long-lasting posts for the new & improved pig sty…..

The sty is larger now…..so the pigs can stretch out…..

AND…..it’s drier!!!

Next week Ralph will be putting on the much needed roof…..

We already have the 5-V Crimp for the tin roof…..we can use all the pieces that are (dangerously) laying around here…..

…..I just need to get some more/new boards…..

Phew!…..and all of this should be completed before the rainy season begins…..

In the meantime…..we’ve gotten rid of the first flight of excess pigs…..

…..but because of the previously broken-down pig pen…..

…..the girl pig kept being visited by the boy pigs…..

…..and then the ensuing next generation of piglets occurred…..

…..just like magic…..

…..imagine that…..(?)…..

…..how do these things keep happening…..(!?!)…..

Needless to say…..we desperately needed excessive pig pen repair!…..

What’s that old saying about what a good farm fence should be?

Something like:   Bull strong…..horse high…..and pig tight…..

…..well…..few of our fences are…..

We currently have a mama pig with her babies in a stall in the barn…..

We are eagerly (?) awaiting another litter from the other sow who “visited” with the boys through the non-existent fence…..

But at least now there is an adequate pig-containment-facility…..

…..with a roof (in the near future)…..

And the next order of business will be to deal with the next round of surplus pigs…..
