…..The Next Day And The Next…..
**********Please Subscribe To My Blog…..It Really Helps**********

It’s another day at the oasis…..
There are lots of things to do…it’s a farm…so there are always…lots and lots of things to do…..
And then Milton steamrolled through…and added so much more…..

But yesterday…I went “out” for the first time (since Milton)…..
I meant it when I said…”I don’t get out much”…..

I don’t have to…I don’t want to…..
…..so I don’t…..

Having a one-way conversation with Pascal…in the Cloud…is good enough for me…..
…..(sometimes the animals here talk back way too much…they can get very opinionated…wordy…and verbose)…..

And that’s why I prefer chatting with Pascal…..

We did have to drive onto the Wellfields immediately after Milton’s rampage…it was wild & wooly…..
Both of the Wellfields’ eastern and western gates had to be opened…so that people like us could actually get out to the real world…because all the other roads were impossibly flooded…..

A friend of my older daughter took a wrong turn while in the Wellfields…and got lost…and we had to go locate him in the dark…and have him follow our truck’s lights back to civilization…..
…..I don’t count going deeper into remote Florida wilderness as “going out”…..

We were surprised to see a group of homeless people in the distance…I just can’t imagine how they managed during Milton’s winds and rains(!?!)…..
Driving out into “the rest of the world” showed so much post-Milton debris along the sides of the roads…there is so much…I doubt it will be picked up for awhile…..

On our street alone…there are entire sets of living room and dining room furniture and appliances that are waiting to be hauled away…..
Blue tarps covering parts or all of people’s roofs are everywhere…some houses still have trees leaning on them…..

Next week we are scheduled to have the precariously leaning Oak (who is cracked & looming over our house) taken down…it’ll be expensive…but it’s the right decision…..
There really isn’t a choice…..

…..We were so very lucky…..

I feel your pain. I don’t think I’ll ever catch up.
I smell constantly of smoke from burn piles. My eyes are burning. I’m so tired and sore. I can hardly do enough. And I feel so guilty…because we were the lucky ones…..
