The Marathon

The Marathon

Sore—-sore—-and sore…

We leave tomorrow morning at 4:00AM for a ranch south of here.  That will be Hunt number three in four days.

I think Violet and Ruby are shell-shocked.

But even so, when I woke up this morning they were at the front gate looking eagerly down the road.  And anytime any of us would go outside, they follow us around and ultimately walk over and wait by the trailer.

I would assume that that means they have been having fun too.

During the last Hunt I gravitated from Third Flight up to Second Flight.

It was a blast!!!

There are riders here from a number of northern Hunts.  Lots of new people to meet.

I just had to sew buttons back onto my vest.  I’ve stain-treated my breeches, yet again (———–remember I’m the one who always has a lot of mud and a little bit of throw-up on her breeches at all times).

I’ve put my stock-tie under a heavy book to simulate ironing for tomorrow morning……………………and I’ve napped.  I’ve napped a lot……………………..and I’m ready for bed.

Today was “The Day at the Races”.

I opted out.

I slept and laundered.

I figured the ponies didn’t need my help.

They already know how to run counter-clockwise without me.

There have been so many things to write about.  I know I’ve promised to post every two days………………..but guys, I’m knackered………………………

Have mercy on me and give me another twenty-four hours………………………….I need to sleep………….ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
