~~The Irish Wolfhound~~

“The Pack”

I love this ancient breed. Β It’s history is long and intricate.

I hope I’ve done better by it over the years.

They are quirky and write their own rules. Β I sometimes wonder how they have survived this long.

I’d like it to persevere…….

Ben & His Daughters

…..having said that…..I don’t want to sell any of these puppies…….

…..I love these huge, dorky hounds with such natural elegance one moment, while the next, they’ve successfully gotten a soup pot stuck on their heads…..

Fey

But with all of that being said…..I can only encourage people to adopt rescue pets…..they so need good homes too…..

But we are at that stage now where people are calling and wanting to visit and possibly pick out a puppy.

Did I mention that I don’t like this part…

Molly’s their actual mother…..but I’ve been front and center throughout all of this puppy rearing marathon…

I want all of my babies to go to good, loving homes…

Better yet…..I don’t want to sell any of them at all…

But a lot of people are calling…

Apparently a lot of people are looking for puppies right now…….

Baby Irish Wolfhound

…..specifically Irish Wolfhound puppies…

I guess we will have to do this next stage while practicing social distancing…..with gloves and face masks…

This will be new…

Hopefully this huge historic breed will bumble along…

They do inherently have the luck of the Irish…

  1. I can’t say I blame you for wanting to keep all of them. If I had my way, I’d have an entire herd of Scotties! Oh, and at least one Irish Wolfhound one day before I kick the bucket. My favorite piece of art is one by Marguerite Kirmse called “Soft Shoulders”. It’s a Scottie laying with an Irish Wolfhound.

    1. I’m looking up “Soft Shoulders” right now. I don’t think I’ve seen that one. I love the hounds…I’m not too thrilled with strangers taking them home…
I think the people should be vet’ed instead of the puppies.

      1. Did you find it? I agree – have them fill out an application, give references and check with their vet. We do all that in rescue, as well as a home visit (virtual right now). BTW, Celia is one of my best friends and she brought me to your place several years ago when you had a litter. What joy! She & Fred are celebrating 2 years in Spain.
