The Cost Of Beauty

The Cost Of Beauty

Castle Torture Chamber

I’ve decided that waxing was invented during the Spanish Inquisition.

Additionally, I’ve known for a long time that I AM the missing link between ape and man.

The older I get, the more I witness the similarities in facial fur.

I’m a lot like Lucy.

*****My Friend Lucy*****

However, waxing has never been my friend…

I do NO waxing that has a country as a descriptive adjective…

I leave that for the youngsters……………

Plus, I scream like a baby…

As my older daughter put it bluntly…………….you’re stuck in the seventies, Mom…

She also said that it looked like everyone back then had porn mustaches……………(?)

……………and she did not say that in a complimentary way…

I’ll just stick with waxing & ripping off my mustache hair and the hair on my knuckle-dragging forearms…

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But, here’s a plus..
My ripped off wax-patches have a second life as a scrubber/scourer for my cast iron pans.
Here’s another real good suggestion———don’t fall into a patch of nettles (Fireweed) prior to waxing…
Why?…
And here’s why……………
The subsequent scabs from the nettle welts (that I had itched relentlessly) got sheared off completely with the hot wax along with  my accompanying, depilatorizing scream…………..and then (because I’m old and on a daily baby aspirin for stroke prevention aid)…
……………I bled like a stuck pig…………(having been to the butchers recently, that idiom illustrated the situation far too accurately…)
I’ve learned that beauty should not be taken for granted……………
……………it is a responsibility that can never be taken lightly……………
……………………………..Pretty is a commitment……………………………..
