This fixer-upper project is SO over-due.

It is most definitively the necessary next “thing” that has to happen here.

It has been over-due for quite sometime.

 

I’ve had a crate of Mexican Saltillo tile stored under the truck shed for months……….just waiting to be used as the flooring…

 

 

I’ve had to chase the Clydesdales away from it on multiple occasions because they want to scratch their butts on it……………it’s now the Leaning-Tile-Tower-of-Pisa…

 

I already know what I want for porch walls.

And I know what I want for the ceiling.

Right now the poor porch is a semi-demolished, uninhabitable heap…

But enter Jimmy Billy……….

 

Yippee!!!

 

He can fix it!               He can fix anything!!

It will be beauteous.

Rather than the pre-existing screening, I want mostly windows.

 

And I want them up off the ground by two or three cement blocks (that way splashing monsoon-rains won’t leave hip-high dirt marks as easily).

 

And then……………it can be air-conditioned or heated too…

 

 

And then……………we will have a clear view of the back yard and swamps…

 

And then…………..I’ll have a permanent place for my stained glass workings……….

(My family has gotten tired of pushing shards of glass aside in order to use the dining room table……….the cats have gotten tired of using my pile of trash glass as an impromptu (albeit sharp) litter box……….and we have all gotten tired of pulling (colorful) glass out of our feet……….)

So there’s that…

 

It’s time for my self-banishment to a renovated porch…………….(plus I want to put a bunch of fans up and hang my profusion of wind-chimes back up again…)

Grateful Dead music and Woodstock wind-chimes……….I love it…

 

Like I said……………it’s long over-due.

 

And the ceiling just has to be blue……………it’s a southern-thing (predominately).

I’ve always been told that a blue ceiling keeps the mosquitoes & wasps at bay……….

Well that and new/non-shredded screening……….
