We’ve been doing a Christmas Photo and Letter for well over thirty years…

We’ll do it again this year…

I’m sure there are people out there who would just like us to take them off  “the”  list…

…I won’t…

I never anticipated that getting older would give me license to get crotchety-er…

…..it has…

…..heh…..heh…..heh…

………….how did a word like crotchety-er and an annual Christmas tradition end up in the same paragraph…….?

(hmmmmmmmmm…)

 

One of these years, I am going to learn how to scan those old photos…….that way, I can make a collage (some of those older photos are priceless…….and probably jail-able/animal-abuse offenses…)

…..like the out-take of trying to pull one of our ferrets out of the ewer…….he was really stuck in there…

…..or the one year there was a Wolfhound/Great Dane smack-down in the living room/photography studio…

Paolo always looked non-plussed in all of the photos…….every year…….year after year…….

He was always smiling…….

He would always hit his mark…….

…..me, I’m not so photogenic…….

…..cake make-up usually covered my tears…….

…..organizing the family photo with dogs & cats & parrots & goats & horses & ferrets…….was not an easy task…

…..a lot of those animals wanted to eat each other…….

So in recent years I’ve opted for a compilation of out-takes from our daily life throughout the previous months…

It’s easier…..

I cry less…..

…..and usually no one gets munched on…….

(…..puncture wounds are so hard to treat……).

…….and the annual photo gets mailed out (habitually late)…….that’s an annual tradition too…….

Which reminds me…………………I guess I should get going on this year’s photo…….
