When we brought her home…just to be on the safe side…our veterinarian (Doctor Stevie Wonder) pulled some blood for baseline bloodwork….. …..just to keep on file…as a history…to refer to….. I’ve delayed and avoided it….. …..but we finally got back all the test results….. *****Well…Here Goes…Disclaimer…This Is A Farm Post…There’s Life And There’s Death That Happen On A Farm***** …..For some unknown reason………….Finley died suddenly….. I’ll include copies of the bloodwork and tests we got back….. But none of them were helpful…or informative…they were a waste of time/paper/& money….. I’ve realized that I have left you hanging in terms of some equine-information….. …..test-results….. …..general gossip….. …..that sort of thing….. To start with….. …..Addy’s bloodwork came back  A-OKAY!!!….. …..Tra!   La!….. Some of her markers showed some inflammation…..but then…..so do mine….. …..but more importantly her liver enzymes were right where they should be….. Our veterinarian just left….. Doctor/Reverend/Sir/Stevie Wonder dropped by to draw blood from Addy….. …..we haven’t done her bloodwork since the beginning of summer….. Addy also hasn’t been taking any medicine/antibiotics since then either….. I’m hoping that her bloodwork will be acceptably normal when the results come back tomorrow evening….. I mean…..what’s normal…..?…..nobody’s normal here….. I’ve been journaling her temperature daily…..(actually twice a day)….. …..some people journal dreams…..some journal thoughts & plans…..some write what they’ve accomplished….. …..me…..?…..? I journal rectal temperatures……..

Beware what’s in the freezer at our house… But…things need to be kept cool… Quite often…..odd things… Vaccines need to be kept chilled to preserve them… Antibiotics (penicillin) always need refrigeration or it looses its pizzazz… Blood samples need to be appropriately stored until they can be sent off… Fecal samples need to be kept cold…..well…..so they don’t smell (because they’re poo) Unsavory reptiles & amphibians need to be cooled…..chilled…..and ultimately frozen… …..to humanely let them think they are hibernating……..

  Addy’s bloodwork came back. It was slightly improved from the last panel which was done the third week in June. It wasn’t great…….but it was better……. Her first two blood panels in March and April were bad… And we don’t know why… …….but they’ve gotten progressively (albeit slowly) better since then… …….and this most recent one was better still…(not great, but better)… I wish I could figure out how to get the reports copied to this blog…….but that’s beyond…
