Snickerdoodles & Horses

Yesterday my younger daughter and I went to the Tea after our Hunt Club’s Mounted Hound Walk…………………
Mounted Hound Walks are a slowed down (slowed way down) version of a Fox Hunt.

The new “entries” (young hounds) come out for the first time and learn from the older, more experienced, fox-hunting hounds in the pack.
…………………I could have gone and ridden…………………..
Let me see, just what will I pick as an excuse?…………………….hmmmmmmmmm.

Claire’s not sound yet.
It was hot.

It was very hot.
I need new belts (and brakes) on the truck………………..so it wouldn’t have been prudent or safe to haul……………………

Chantilly is an unknown……………………….I don’t know what to expect from her.
…………………….I’ve never ridden Chantilly…………………………and, she’s zippy.
(Looks like I’m narrowing things down now, doesn’t it?)
Okay……….Okay………..
I’ll admit it.
I’m a little apprehensive about riding Chantilly.

Violet, I knew.
Violet was predictable.
Violet’s bag-of-tricks was well-rehearsed with me.

I don’t know Chantilly, yet.
Her bag-of-tricks is still a mystery to unfold…………..
Okay……….Okay………..I’m scared……….

There…………now, are you happy!?
I’ve admitted it.
But, I WILL get there.
Sooner rather than later.
Mary Constance will make me.
But yesterday instead of riding…………………………………………….I made oatmeal cookies and Snickerdoodles for dessert for the Tea.
Snickerdoodles go with every occasion……………there were even root beer floats supplied by another Hunt member.

Snickerdoodles went really well with them too……….
Snickerdoodles are a good thing.
Maybe not a complete replacement to riding……………..but, a good thing none-the-less.
Can you tell that I’m trying to re-direct from the fact that I didn’t ride………………….at a Mounted Hound “WALK” (what a give-away).
I lost my nerve.
But the cookies were good………
And it was hot.

(I’m so ashamed.)
