And so the old broad officially turned sixty-six yesterday…

Fourth of July is just around the corner…

Woot!  Woot!

I (finally) got the fan hung up properly over the bunnies’ hutches…..(I can’t imagine a rabbit-pelt jacket in this weather)…

Paolo just told me that yesterday’s “feels like” temperature made it to 108F…

I guess the “Gorilla Dust Cloud” is still affecting our lack of rain…

…..but as soon as it leaves…..then it’s back to Hurricane Season and lightening strikes and the return of the rainy season…

Summer’s in Florida…

A sautéing experience…

BUT—–this year we have a real/working air conditioning system…

…..last summer we did not…

…..so there’s that…

I planned my birthday junk food with care…

I scoped out the Winn-Dixie’s ice cream section a couple of times ahead of time for the appropriate ice cream flavors…

Don’t get me wrong…..”Ben & Jerry’s” is GREAT!

“Cherry Garcia” is one of my all time favorites…

But of late, I’ve turned into a “Blue Bell” officianado.

Over the holidays I discovered and single-handedly wiped-out our Winn-Dixie’s supply of Blue Bell’s “Christmas Cookie” Seasonal flavor…..(geez, that was good…..all of those empty/sticky containers rolling around in our trash cans…..ahhhhhhhh…..good memories)…

BUT…..for my birthday I got two (2) new favorites…

“Cookie Cake” (chocolate chip cookie and cake pieces in chocolate ice cream)…..

…..and “Cookie Dough Overload” (chocolate chip cookie dough, peanut butter cookie dough, and sugar cookie dough in vanilla ice cream)…..

…..nirvana in every spoonful…..

…..good times…..

*****Blue Bell Ice Cream’s Flavors*****——(ooooh, did you see “Southern Blackberry Cobbler”?…..Winn-Dixie didn’t have that one!)

…..and for a birthday cake…..I got a 1/4 sheet cake from the grocery store…..

…..we bake a lot…..so a store bought cake is kind of a novelty here…..

…..you just can’t beat the refined-sugar-overload coupled perfectly with excessive lard…..

…..like I said…..good times…..

…..and thank you for all of the birthday wishes…..

I really can’t complain about being a wrinkly/saggy old crank…..

…..the way I look at it…..what are the options?…..

…..so, being gravity-ridden and older is a pretty good dilemma…..

…..oh, and Happy Fourth of July…..

…..(I think I’ll go plug a watermelon with some mediocre bourbon)…..
