We ultimately got the bitch goat in a box stall…..

…..then armed with some directive information from Doctor Brigid (our goat veterinarian friend)…..

…..(Doctor Brigid has a very creative and intelligent mind)…..(I like the off-beat tendencies and her ability to think outside the box…..and then subsequently leave the box in the dust on the side of the road)…..

(who needs that stupid box anyway)

…..and then after some quick YouTube searches…..

…..(you can find anything on YouTube)…..

…..we located a nice lady in New Zealand…..

…..who walked us through what to do…..

…..(what additionally scares me a little…..is that we already had ALL of the equipment that was necessary…..neatly stored & labeled in our garage)…..

…..hmmmmm…..

Princess Sparkles…..here we come…..!!!…..

Our de-horning brigade consisted of my younger daughter, my older daughter, and me…..

…..(along with a number of unique/mis-appropriated/off-labeled pieces of equipment)…..

Princess Sparkles’ errant horns were no match for our concentrated team-effort…..

We had to notch each horn in two places to hold the bands in place at the base…..

…..then we had to fit the Castrator over each horn to slide the double bands onto the notched-base of each horn…..

My younger daughter straddled Princess S…..

…..I managed her jumping & jiving horns…..

…..while my older daughter managed the castrator and the band placements…..

(FYI—–the mis-appropriated hoof pick was a real necessity)

Ultimately we were able to get two castrator bands onto each horn-base…..

………….and now we wait………….

The nice New Zealand lady said it would take four to five weeks for the horns to shed…..

………….we’ll wait and see………….

………….Princess Sparkles is not happy………….

………….but a well-oxygenated Cami is………….
