Pony Boy Learns A Hard Lesson
*******Maybe This Link Will Get You To My Tick Tock Channel*******

It was a hard beginning lesson…..but a necessary one…..
My older daughter was getting tired of being run through…..

…..or getting run over…..
We were all tired of Finley’s free-wheeling attitude…..and hooves…..

…..and now he’s started biting…..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What A Pleasant Pony!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
…..and let’s not forget his laser-accurate/double-barreled kicks…..
…..Great!…..
…..We decided…..it was time…..
*************************”The Tying-Off Lesson”*************************
Finley needs to grow up and be a gentleman…..
He needs to learn to lead quietly…..
He needs to learn to be tied off patiently…..
…………………He Can’t Grow Up To Be A One Ton Nasty…………………
Finley has been handled a lot up to this point…..but he’s recently decided he’s a big bad boy…..
…..and he doesn’t need to listen…..
So…..a telephone pole corner post…..a strong halter…..and an equally strong lead rope was in order…..
My older daughter already has over-stretched collateral ligaments in her knees…..
…..our rotator cuffs are sore…..
…..and let’s not even talk about all of my artificial joints & how I earned them…..
***Ask any horseman who raises & trains babies to take off their gloves***
…..their hands look like mine…..(or much/much worse)…..with old/disfigured broken fingers…..
There’s no doubt about it…..baby horses are rough on your body…..
So whenever possible…..you let something less-bruisable and sturdier…..take the brunt of a primary lesson (like a telephone pole post)…..
*************…..How To Stand Quietly When Tied Off…..*************
In one of my earlier posts I spoke about the importance of a very sturdy halter…..
…..it’s real important…..
…..you don’t want your baby to learn that if they throw enough of a hissy-fit that they can break the halter and run away…..
…..(that would be a bad, bad lesson to learn)…..
