POLLEN!—It’s great for bees…..

…..but not so great for a number of my friends…..

My family’s lucky…pollen doesn’t affect us…if it does…it’s not noticeable…..

…..others aren’t so lucky…..

Red eyes…runny noses…itchies…& sneezing…..

I know when it’s happening…because the oak tree’s are so thick with it…my red truck looks orange…..

…..a simple windshield wiper wash…just leaves gooey/yellow/pasty ruts…..

…..I have a bottle of Windex in my truck…along with a windshield scraper…for all the pollen-putty…..

Our property has a variety of oak trees…and palmettos…(and nettles)…and blossoming-stuff…..

…..it’s perfect for bees…..

…..not so much for my allergic-friends…..

Springtime for us…starts with the resurgence of the stinging nettles…then it progresses to the swirling pollens…then winds down with those stinging/nasty/cocooning caterpillars…..

…..and finally the active-resurgence of snake-activity…..

Florida becomes the beach-playground for college students on Spring Break…..

However as a resident…forget trying to get to the beach…..

…..it’s wall-to-wall with minimalist-spandex…along with a constant high-tide of suntan oils and margaritas…..

I’ll just stay in my swampy-boonies with my fly-swatter…boots…and Windex bottle…..

It’s just one more descriptive-reality that will never make it in the Florida Tourist Board’s vacationer’s brochures…..

Busch Gardens is in full-tourist-swing………….I wonder what unique/animal babies will be born there this Spring?…..

…..it usually makes local headlines…..

We don’t have anyone due this Spring here…(as far as I know)…..

Trooper needed so much TLC when he first arrived…..

He still needs more weight…and if he had bred the girls…their babies would have been born in the middle of the heat of summer…..

…..(five month gestation)…..

…..that’s not fair for the Moms or their babies…the heat and the rain here are just too brutal…..

Trooper needs to concentrate on putting on some pounds…getting rid of more worms…and returning to health…so he’s ready for the girls during the cooler months…..

My older daughter did notice recently that Brave was in the dog-house…(as far as Claire was concerned)…..

…..she was snake-earring him…and he was keeping his distance…..

…..he was acting like the perfect-pony-boy around her…even making baby-horse/mouth-chewing behavior(?)…..

***Our translation is***  Maybe she’s already pregnant…and wants her space?…..

…..possibly she was telling him off?………….Maybe?…..

Poor Brave…just Claire’s boy-toy…..
